How Do I...
Make An Appointment?
Appointments for any clinician may be made by either telephoning 01483 202066 or calling at the surgery. You can also book
an appointment online; please ask reception for a PIN to use the internet booking service. Routine
appointments may be made in advance, upto a maximum of one month, which will enable us to offer you
an appointment at a time best suitable to your requirements.
Appointments are for 10 minutes. You may be asked to make another appointment if you present more than
one problem. If you know that you need additional time pease ask for a double appointment.
There are some patients, both male and female, who would prefer to have someone present in the room when a doctor or nurse has to do an “intimate” examination. The “someone else” could be someone the patient has brought with them or a member of the surgery staff. If we forget to ask you, please feel free to ask.
Please remember to cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend so we can offer
it to someone else.
Urgent Appointments
If you require an urgent appointment for the same day you will be seen. You may be triaged by a practice nurse who will call in a doctor if nessecary or given an appointment with the duty ductor. There may not be a choice of
doctors and you might have to wait. This service is intended for serious problems that have come on in the last 48 hours and require urgent medical attention. Please use this service as it is intended: if you have an ongoing medical
problem you may be asked to make a routine appointment.
How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?
Home visits are reffered for patients who are housebound or too ill to visit the surgery. If you feel a home visit is necessary please try to telephone before 10.00am if a visit is required that day. Emergency visits only will
be arranged after that time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to
allocate priority to house calls. Do remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it
takes to do a home visit and the surgery is often better equipped to deal with serious medical problems.
How Do I...
Obtain Test Results?
If you have undergone tests or x-rays ordered by the practice, we will inform you of the results at your next
appointment. If no further appointment needs to be arranged, we will advise you when and how to obtain the
results.
Chaperones
There are some patients, both male and female, who would prefer to have someone present in the room when a
doctor or nurse has to do an “intimate” examination. The “someone else” could be someone the patient has
brought with them or a member of the surgery staff. If you would like a chaperone present, please ask at reception at the time of booking to arrange for one of our nurses to be in with you.
